Manage all custom rules in one place

A new Rule Management page is available for rule designers to see and manage all custom rules in a study.

Rule designers with rule management related permissions can now access the new Rule Management page. You can still see existing rules by navigating directly to the visit and form where the rule exists in either Production, Testing or Training modes. However, this new page allows you to see and easily manage all custom rules within a study, for all modes, in one single place.

The rules in the Rule Management page are classified into two different tabs: Design & Testing and Production & Training. On the Design & Testing tab you can see all rules in any status (Draft, UAT, Approved, Published and Invalid), while only the published rules are listed under Production & Training. Each rule is listed along with the following details:
  • Rule name and description
  • Target form
  • Target question
  • Rule state (Only for Design & Testing)
  • Whether the rule is enabled or disabled for a given mode
  • Whether, when published, the rule runs on all data or future data only (Only for the Design & Testing)
  • Last modified or last published date and user
Aside from viewing your rules, this page also provides you with the options to:
  • Enable or disable a rule for a specific mode, either individually or in bulk.
  • While in testing, change a rule to run either on all data or future data only when it gets published.

    Note:

This change will be applied as part of a study version tile move from Testing to Approved containers. This does not impact rules that are published with the slider (as a change of rule state).
  • Find a given rule on the other tab to manage it for a different mode.
  • Open a rule in the Rule editor to view it in read only mode.

    Note:

As of now, to edit a rule or create a new one you still need to access the rule editor from the study in Testing mode. These abilities are going to be added to the Rule Management page as part of a future release.

The new Rule Management page provides a complete overview of all custom rules within your study letting you streamline processes related to rule management. You can find additional information in the Rules Developer Guide after the Release Assessment Environment (RAE) upgrade.
