Configuring Channel Rate Plans

You can distribute rates to each booking channel.

Note:

Ensure you have the necessary Channel Management module tasks at the cluster level and property level assigned in OPERA Cloud Distribution.

Searching Channel Rate Plans

With the help of search options, you can search for channel rate mapping across multiple channels and properties. This option is available at both Property and Hub levels.

From the Administration menu, select Distribution, then select Channel Rate Plans.
HUB level - Select a Channel or Multiple Channels. All Channel Rate Plans are displayed for the selected channel.
Property level - Property is autoselected.
Select a Property, Property Rate Plan or Channel Rate Plan to filter search results.

Adding Channel Rate Plans

From the Administration menu, select Distribution, then select Channel Rate Plans.
Click Add Channel Distribution and select following details:
Select Property from the drop-down and click Next.
Select Channel and click Next and enter following details in the Add channel rate code panel.
1. Active: By default this check box is selected when creating a new record.
2. Property Rate Code: Select a rate code from the list.
3. Channel Rate Code: Enter a unique code to identify rate code quickly. This field is required.
4. Channel Rate Code Name: Enter the name of channel rate. This is optional.
5. Start Date: Enter or select the start date, the rate code is distributed on the channel. This field is required.
6. End Date: Enter or select the end date, the rate code is distributed on the channel. This field is optional.
7. Publish: By default Restrictions and Rates check box is selected when creating a new record. Deselect the check box to stop publishing restrictions or rates.
8. Channel Rate Plan Type: Select a rate plan type. By default, this shows the type defined on distribution attribute for the property rate plan. This is optional.
9. Channel Rate Code Order: Enter the channel rate plan order. The default value is taken from Distribution attributes in the rate plan level for rate plan configuration. If the default value is altered, an indicator below the field for Overridden value appears
10. Select all Room Types for Offer Distribution: By default, this check box is set when creating a new record and shows all room types in the field below. Deselect the check box to define the rate plan only for certain room types.
11. Associated Room Types: Select one or multiple Room Types for which the rate plan is valid. By default, it shows all Room Types when creating a new record and the check box above is selected. If you remove one or multiple Room Types, the check box gets deselected. If you select all, the check box is set by default.

The following fields are available only for one specific channel:

Property Room Type: Since the specific channel has a room rate level mapping, this field enables you to make an additional selection of the Property Room Type that the rate plan mapping will be linked to. This list comprises of the property room types for which a valid mapping already exists. This field is required.
1. Channel Rate Code: Select a rate code returned from the channel.
2. Property Alternative Rate Code: Select the Property Alternative Rate Plan used for reservation delivery.
3. Additional Fields for GDS/Switch channels:
  - GDS Rate Plan Description (Line1): Enter the channel GDS Rate Plan Description Line 1. The default value is taken from Distribution attributes in the rate plan level. If the default value is altered, an indicator below the field for Overridden value appears. This field is limited to 63 characters.
  - GDS Rate Plan Description (Line 2): Enter the channel GDS Rate Plan Description Line 2. The default value is taken from Distribution attributes in the rate plan level. If the default value is altered, an indicator below the field for Overridden value appears. This field is limited to 45 characters.
  - GDS Rate Plan Description (Line 3): Enter the channel GDS Rate Plan Description Line 3. The default value is taken from Distribution attributes in the rate plan level. If the default value is altered, an indicator below the field for Overridden value appears. This field is limited to 45 characters.
  - GDS Rate Plan Description (RPD): Enter the channel GDS Rate Plan Description RPD. The default value is taken from Distribution attributes in the rate plan level. If the default value is altered, an indicator below the field for Overridden value appears. This field is limited to 620 characters.

Editing Channel Rate Plans

From the Administration menu, select Distribution, then select Channel Rate Plans.
Enter search criteria and click Search.
Select a channel rate record in the search results and then click the Edit button.
Update the details.
Click Save.

Deleting Channel Rate Plans

You are able to delete single record from a hub location or from a property location.

From the Administration menu, select Distribution, then select Channel Rate Plans.
Enter a search criteria and click Search.
Select a channel rate record in the search results and then click the Delete button.
Click Delete.

Copying Channel Rate Plans to Multiple Properties

You can copy single record from hub location to multiple properties by selecting Copy option to properties.

From the Administration menu, select Distribution, then select Channel Rate Plans.
Enter a search criteria and click Search.
Select a channel rate record in the search results and then click the Copy.
Select Copy to Properties.
Select one or multiple or all target properties.
Click Save.

Copying Channel Rate Plans to Multiple Channels

You can copy a single record from hub and property locations to multiple channels by selecting Copy option to channels.

From the Administration menu, select Distribution, then select Channel Availability.
Enter a search criteria and click Search.
Select a channel rate record in the search results and then click Copy.
Select Copy To Channels from the drop-down.
On the Copy channel rate mappings slide out panel:
1. Select Channel Type and click Continue.
2. Select one/multiple channels and click Continue.
3. Continue with pre-selected or choose another rate by editing channel rate code and channel rate code name.
4. Click Submit.
