Configuring Reservation Cancellation Reasons

OPERA Cloud requires a reason to be selected for every reservation cancellation. These cancellation reasons are used for individual reservations and are not displayed for block cancellations. See Configuring Block Cancellation Reasons.

Cancellation reasons is global configuration shared by all properties in multi-property operations.

Adding Reservation Cancellation Reasons

Cancellation reason codes can be a maximum of 10 alpha-numeric characters.

  1. From the Administration menu, select Booking, select Reservation Management, and then select Cancellation Reasons.

  2. Click New and enter the following details:

    1. Code. Enter a code for the cancel reason

    2. Description. Enter a description for the cancel reason

      1. Manage Translation: Click link to configure localized descriptions. For more information, see Configuring Localized Code Descriptions. (Available when the Multi Language OPERA Control is active.).

    3. Display Seq. Enter a number that controls the position of this code in listings. Codes not assigned a sequence number are listed in alphabetical order following codes with an assigned sequence.

  3. Click Save.

Editing Reservation Cancellation Reasons

  1. From the Administration menu, select Booking, select Reservation Management, and then select Cancellation Reasons.

  2. Enter search criteria and click Search.

  3. Select the cancellation reason in the search result, then click the vertical ellipsisActions menu, and select Edit.

  4. Update the configuration.

  5. Click Save.

Deleting Reservation Cancellation Reasons

  1. From the Administration menu, select Booking, select Reservation Management, and then select Cancellation Reasons.

  2. Enter search criteria and click Search.

  3. Select the cancellation reason in the search result, then click the vertical ellipsisActions menu, and select Delete.

  4. Click Delete to confirm.
