Reservation Housekeeping and Task Schedule
Prerequisites for Managing Reservation Housekeeping and Task Schedule
To access the housekeeping options for a room reservation click the Housekeeping Details link in I Want To. . ., or from the reservation presentation page. In the Housekeeping panel, you can add the time the guest would like the room serviced each day, which is printed output on the housekeeping task sheet reports and displayed in the housekeeping task companion. Instructions to the housekeeping room attendant can also be added. For example, if you mention a pet is in the room, these instructions are included on the task sheet reports and task companion. The Cleaning Time and Room Instructions can be entered for the entire stay, or on a daily basis.
Room instructions will auto-populate from the reservation profile notes according to the note type selected for the Housekeeping Profile Note Type OPERA Control. Subsequent changes to the profile notes will not update the Room Instructions for existing reservations. If Room Instructions exist and a different profile (with housekeeping notes) is selected for the reservation, the housekeeping notes in the new profile are appended to the existing room instructions, separated with a pipe |.
When the Shares OPERA Control active, Room Instructions are copied to share reservations. In the event that a share reservation is separated, the Room Instructions remain and can be updated as needed.
You can enter the time the guest would like the room to be cleaned into the Cleaning Time field. The time entered here will show in the Task Sheet Companion in the desktop and mobile versions. It will also show on the Task Sheet Report with Report Style 12.
When the Turndown OPERA Control is active the Housekeeping panel displays a Turndown check box to indicate if a turndown service is required for the room. You can also change the Turndown status and include or exclude the room from the Turndown task by selecting or deselecting the check box. When the Turndown Service OPERA Control is set to Room, the Turndown check box can be defaulted based on Room configuration. When the Turndown Service is set to Reservation Attributes, the Turndown check box can be defaulted based the Market Code, Membership Level, Membership Type, Rate Code, Room Type, Special and VIP Level reservation attributes. See OPERA Controls — Room Management.
When the Guest Service Status OPERA Control is active, the Housekeeping panel displays the four options for the Guest Service Status (Do Not Disturb, Make Up Room, Service Declined, No Status Selected). The status can be changed and reflect on the Housekeeping Board for further auctioning. When the Additional Task Sheets OPERA Control is set to DND (Do not Disturb) and NSR (No service required), rooms marked as Do not Disturb are automatically placed on the DND task sheet and rooms marked as Service Declined are automatically placed on the NSR task sheet.
In properties where the Back to Back Handling for Linked Reservations OPERA Control is active, and the Back to Back reservations are assigned to the same room, the departure task is not automatically assigned on the day the guest is scheduled to check out and back in. The room receives the normally scheduled task for the day as if it were a continuous stay. A Back to Back icon is displayed on the Task Sheet presentation screen and the Task Sheet Companion so the attendant knows it is a guest that shows as a departure but is a Back to Back reservation.
When the Prioritize check box is selected the room is prioritized in the Housekeeping Task Companion. For more information, see Task Companion Auto-Priority
Note:
The departure task does not display in the housekeeping task schedule.Note:
Changes to the above Housekeeping panel items of the reservation are logged under the following Action Types of the Changes Log:Reservation Group
-
Turndown (when Turndown OPERA Control is active) - Update Reservation
-
Room Instructions - Update Reservation
-
Cleaning Time - Update Reservation
Housekeeping Group
-
Guest Service Request (when Guest Service Status OPERA Control is active) - Guest Service Status Request
-
Prioritize - Cleaning Priority
Note:
When the Housekeeping Task Scheduling OPERA Control and Advanced Daily Details OPERA Controls are active, and the reservation has multiple room segments (scheduled room moves), the configured Departure Task is automatically created for the move-out room on the day the guest is scheduled to move rooms. In this case, the Departure Task will replace any other task scheduled, and the room will be treated as a departure. The same logic is reflected in the Housekeeping Forecast. You can also see information about a room's move In/Out status on the task sheets.
