Preserve custom home pages, images, and release notes from a previous release (upgrade only)

Perform these steps to preserve any customizations you made to previous releases and to copy Release Notes documents from previous releases.

Perform these steps using the non-privileged user account on the application server.

  1. Copy any relevant Release Notes documents from the previous installation location to the new installation location. For example, copy the Release Notes documents from the following location:
    /u01/stage/Signal_Install_old/Signal/relnotes

    to the following location:

    /u01/stage/Signal_Install/Signal/relnotes

    Note:

    You do not need to copy the following documents: Release Notes documents for data releases that are no longer on your server, MedDRA documents for releases that are no longer on your server, Release Notes documents for prior releases of the Oracle Empirica Signal software, a PDF document of the User Guide and Online Help for prior releases, the Logistic Regression in Oracle Empirica Signal 7.1 PDF document.
  2. Copy any custom content, such as custom home pages, from the previous installation location to the new installation location. For example, copy your file from the following location:
    /u01/stage/Signal_Install_old/Signal/customhomes

    to the following location:

    /u01/stage/Signal_Install/Signal/customhomes

    Note:

    The home page file name home.inc is reserved for system use in Oracle Empirica Signal 9.1. If your custom home page file is named home.inc, it will not be used. Please rename the file to another name and reflect that change in the respective login group settings.
  3. Copy any custom images from the previous installation location to the new installation location. For example, copy your file from the following location:
    /u01/stage/Signal_Install_old/Signal/image

    to the following location:

    /u01/stage/Signal_Install/Signal/image

    Note:

    The logo file name logo.gif is reserved for system use in Oracle Empirica Signal 9.1. If your custom logo file is named logo.gif, it will not be used. Please rename the file to another name and reflect that change in the respective login group settings.
