6 Custom Browser

You can add buttons to touchscreen pages which launch web pages on the workstation. A selection dialog shows a list of available URLs.

Click the Close button to close the web page.

The following error appears when you attempt to access a web page that has not been properly configured: URL is blocked. Your organization doesn’t allow you to view this site. This is a Microsoft Edge generated error message and cannot be customized.

Key Points

  • The custom browser is supported only on workstations running Microsoft Windows with a minimum version of Microsoft Edge 79.0.309.0.

  • A Browser User has been added to the workstation for the custom browser.

  • Downloads are not allowed when using the custom browser.

  • Policies on the local machine take precedence over those of the new Browser User level.

  • The custom browser requires CAL 160 or later.

  • The custom browser uses Page Visibility to restrict access to the web page links.
