Configuring the Barcode Scanner on the Oracle Tablet 72X
Before configuring the scanner, ensure that your Oracle Tablet 72X is configured with the correct Type. See Adding a Workstation for more information.
The Oracle Tablet 72X has a built-in barcode scanner that can
be configured as a COM3 barcode reader or an OPOS barcode reader.
Check the Device Manager to see how yours is
configured:

Honeywell N4680 (COM3) (or similar) configured as a Generic Barcode Reader.

POS HID Barcode Scanner configured as an OPOS Barcode Reader.
The Oracle Tablet 700 Series Setup Guide contains more information on setting up and using the Tablet 72X, including making changes to the barcode reader.
- Select the property, click Setup, and then click Workstations.
- Double-click the workstation record to open it.
- Click the Devices tab.
- In the Peripheral Device Configuration section, click Add.
- For the OPOS Barcode Reader:
- Select OPOS Barcode Reader from the Select Peripheral Device Type drop-down list.
- Enter Honeywell in Custom Device Settings Configuration.
- Click OK.
- Click Save.
- For the Generic Barcode Reader:
