Configuring Barcode Format Sets

The Barcode Format Set determines how workstations read barcodes of various lengths.

  1. Select the Enterprise or property, click Setup, and then click Barcode Format Sets.
  2. Insert a barcode format set record, and then double-click it.
  3. Click Add.
  4. In the Input Length field, enter the number of digits in the scanned barcodes.
  5. In the Returned Start field, enter the first digit to use in the numeric value to return.
  6. In the Returned Length field, enter the number of digits to read as the numeric value to return.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Select the property, click Setup, and then click Workstations.
  9. Double-click the workstation to be used with the barcode reader.
  10. Click the Transactions tab.
  11. Select the Barcode Format Set for the workstation to use.

    If you have barcode readers with differing barcode format settings, repeat steps 2 through 7 for each reader. Once completed, repeat steps 8 through 12 as needed for each workstation.

  12. Click Save.
