Configuring Menu Item Prices
- Select the Enterprise, property, revenue center, or zone, click Configuration, and then click Menu Item Maintenance.
- Click Search to show all menu items, and then double-click a menu item master record.
- Click Prices, and then click the Insert button on the toolbar.
- From the Prices to Add field, select Price Sequence #1, enter the Default Price for the menu item, and then click OK.
- Configure the price record. The following table describes
the price record fields:

Field Description Price
Enter the menu item price amount.
(Optional) Prep Cost
Enter the menu item prep cost.
This field is grayed out for properties that have Inventory Management enabled.
Tax Class Override
To allow the menu item price to use a different tax class than the tax class configured for the menu item definition, select a new tax class from the list.
If you select 0 - None, the price uses the tax class configured for the menu item class associated with the menu item definition.
Condiment Parent Tax Class Override
Set this field to specify the tax class that overrides the parent menu item’s standard tax class when this condiment is added.
Condiment Parent Tax Class Override Priority
Use this field to determine which Condiment Parent Tax Class Override applies when multiple condiments with overrides are added to a menu item. Enter a value from 1 to 99 to set priority (lower numbers indicate higher priority), or enter 0 for no priority. If no priority is set, the system defaults to the override of the first condiment that has one.
Service Charge Group
If the price includes a service charge, select a service charge group from the list.
Active on Level
Select the main or sub menu level in which this price becomes active.
Select 0 - All Levels to make the price active for all menu levels.
Restricted to Order Types
Use this field to restrict a menu item price to specific order types by selecting one or more from the list (up to 32). Leave it blank to make the price available for all order types. If you use Control Parameters option 8 - Display Summary Totals Only After Order Type Declared, ensure that at least one price is configured with no order type restrictions.
Options
Select 3 - Menu Item Tax Class Override Takes Precedence Over Condiment Parent Tax Class (Condiment only) to apply the menu item (bulk purchase) tax class override instead of the condiment parent tax class.
Select 4 - Exclude Condiment Parent Item From Menu Item Tax Class Override Count (Condiment only) to exclude the condiment parent item from the menu item (bulk purchase) tax class override count.
Effectivity Group
To make the price active at a specific date and time, select the corresponding effectivity group from the list.
Effectivity Status
Shows the current availability of the price record based on the record's effectivity group setting.
External Reference 1
Enter an external reference if needed to map this item to records in third party systems.
External Reference 2
Enter an external reference if needed to map this item to records in third party systems.
- Click Save.
- Repeat Steps 3 through 6 to add price definitions for the
menu item.

- To allow the display of price information on workstation
touchscreen buttons:
- Select the property, click Setup, and then click Property Parameters.
- Click the Options tab, and then select 64 - Show Price on Menu Item Buttons.
- Click Save.
Custom button styling is required to display the prices on buttons. A custom CSS is required for Oracle Linux for MICROS and Android clients, and custom XAML is required for Microsoft Windows clients.
