1.8.1 Create Country Code
This topic describes the systematic instructions to configure a country code.
Specify User ID and Password, and login to Home screen.
- On Home screen, click Core Maintenance. Under Core Maintenance, click Country Code.
- Under Country Code, click Create Country Code.The Create Country Code screen displays.
- Specify the fields on Create Country Code screen.
Note:
The fields marked as Required are mandatory.Table 1-18 Create Country Code – Field Description
Field Description Country Code Enter the specific code that uniquely identifies the country. Country Name Enter the official name of the country associated with the country code. Alternate Country Code Provide an alternate code for the country if applicable. This could be an additional or legacy code used to identify the country. Region Code Enter the code representing the geographical region associated with the country. ISO Country Code Enter the standardized ISO code for the country. ISO Code Specify the ISO standard code for the country. This may refer to a specific ISO classification used within the system. Blacklist This option is switched off by default. Switch it on if the country is blacklisted. A blacklisted country is restricted from certain transactions or activities within the system. EU Member This option is switched off by default. Switch it on if the country is recognized by Swift as part of the Intra-European countries. This classification may affect certain transaction processing rules. Generate 205 This option is switched off by default. Switch it on if cover messages 205COV or 205 are required for transactions involving this country. If not switched on, standard RTGS, 202, or 202COV messages will be generated instead. IBAN Check Required This option is switched off by default. Switch it on if an IBAN (International Bank Account Number) check is mandatory for transactions involving this country. BIC Clearing Code This option is switched off by default. Switch it on if the National ID in the BIC (Bank Identifier Code) plus file should be used as the clearing code. During the upload of clearing codes from the BIC plus file, the system will identify records belonging to countries associated with this setting. Intra European This option is switched off by default. Switch it on if the country is considered an Intra-European country, affecting how certain European regulations or processing rules are applied. - Click Save to save the details.The country code is successfully created and can be viewed using the View Country Code screen.
