19 Forgot Password

This topic provides the systematic instructions to user to reset their login password using Forgot Password feature .

The login password is the password using which the user can log into the internet banking platform. The user cannot access his bank accounts without this password.

The user is required to enter his User ID and Date of Birth. Post successful validation of the user’s details, user is asked to enter the second factor authentication details (as per the authentication mode maintained by the Bank).

Once the user is authenticated, user will receive a link to generate the new password, on his registered email ID.

Pre-requisites
  • The user must have valid login credentials to access the digital banking platform.
  • The system administrator must have setup 2 factor authentication for Forgot Password.

To reset the password:

  1. From Portal, click Forgot Password.
  2. In the Login page, click Forgot Password.
    The Forgot Password screen appears.

    Note:

    The fields which are marked as Required are mandatory.

    Field Name Description
    Username Enter your login username.
    Date of birth Enter your date of birth.
  3. Perform one of the following actions:
    • In the Username field, enter your login username.
    • Click virtualkeboard icon to enter the new password using the virtual keyboard.

      (See Password Condition section on the application screen to view the policy of setting a new password.)

  4. Perform one of the following actions:
    • In Date of birth field, enter your date of birth.
    • Click virtualkeboard icon to re-enter the password using the virtual keyboard.
  5. Perform one of the following actions:
    • Click Continue.

      The Verification screen appears. The user has to enter the 2factor authentication, before he can proceed. 2 factor authentication (OTP/Security question/Soft Token) will be displayed as per the setup done by the system administrator.

      A Confirmation screen appears, along with a message stating that the link to reset password has been sent to user’s registered email.

    • Click Cancel to cancel the transaction.
  6. Click the link received in your email to reset the password.
    The Reset Password screen appears.

    Note:

    Password Enter a new password for channel access.
    Re-enter Password Re-enter the new password to confirm the same.
  7. Perform one of the following actions:
    • In the Password field, enter a new password.
    • Click virtualkeboard icon to enter a new password using the virtual keyboard.
  8. Perform one of the following actions:
    • In the Re-enter Password field, re-enter the new password.
    • Click virtualkeboard icon to re-enter the new password using the virtual keyboard.
  9. Perform one of the following actions:
    • Click Submit.

      A message confirming the successful reset of the password appears.

    • Click Cancel to cancel the transaction.
  10. Click Login to log in to the application.
