Panel - All Metrics Overview
The All Metrics Overview dashboard panel displays all of the metrics for a device or multiple devices in a dashboard.
Grid Details
If the paging toolbar is enabled, the following pagination controls appear:
-
First Page
-
Previous Page
-
Page selector: Enter a page number and press Enter
-
Next Page
-
Last Page
-
Limit: Select the number of rows to show on a page.
-

-
Results counter: Shows the total number of rows and which range is currently displayed.
Filtering Metrics
You can filter the metrics that appear on the grid. Metrics grids convert some data into more easily readable units. For example, the System Uptime metric displays numbers in days in the grid, but the value is stored internally as a number of seconds. When filtering, you must use the unconverted unit, which is set for the metric type.
For the default metric types, you may need to convert the units when filtering by the following values:
-
Time values use seconds. The displayed values could use other units of time, such as days.
For example, when filtering the System Uptime metric, to find servers that have been up for more than 500 days, convert the number of days to seconds: 500 days x 24 hours x 60 minutes x 60 seconds = 43200000 seconds.
-
Bandwidth and network traffic, use bits per second (b/s). The displayed values could use other metric SI decimal units, such as kb/s, Mb/s, or Gb/s.
For example, when filtering the Interface Inbound Bandwidth metric, to find rates of less than 250 kb/s, convert the kilobits to bits: 250 kb x 1000 b = 250000 bits.
-
Memory and read or write rates use Bytes and Bytes per second. The displayed values could use other Binary IEC units, such as kiB/s, MiB/s, or GiB/s, which multiply by 1024.
For example, when filtering by the Disk Used metric, to find devices using more than 50 GiB of space, convert the number of GiB to B: 50 GiB x 1024 MiB x 1024 KiB x 1024 B = 53687091200 Bytes.
If your environment has custom metrics or you have made changes to the default metrics, you may need to use other units. You can see the units used for metrics in the Metric Types configuration interface, or ask a system administrator.
Note:
When you filter results by metric values, the total results in the results counter are not updated and the pagination controls become unreliable. The pagination controls operate on the unfiltered list of metrics, regardless of filters applied to metric values. Oracle recommends sorting the grid by the column you are filtering by to improve pagination, or setting the limit to 1000 to display as many results as possible to avoid the need to change pages.
Form Fields
The following fields are available when you configure the panel:
-
Panel Name: The name of the panel to display in the panel header.
-
Link Target: Where the metric graph appears when you select a metric from the grid. Options are:
-
Current Tab: Opens the metric graph in the current browser tab.
-
New Tab: Opens the metric graph in a new browser tab.
-
Pop Up: Opens the metric graph in a pop-up window within the current tab.
-
-
Time Range: The time range to retrieve and display the metric data for.
-
Device Source: How devices are chosen for the grid. Options are All, Device, Device Group, Device Zone, and Multiple Devices.
Caution:
To avoid negatively impacting system performance, use All in small environments only, or combine it with other options to display smaller data sets.
Depending on the selection, the following fields appear:
-
Device: The device to display metrics for. Appears when Device Source is set to Device.
-
Device Group: The group of devices to display metrics for. Appears when Device Source* is set to Device Group**.
-
Zone: The zone of devices to display metrics for. Appears when Device Source is set to Device Zone.
-
Devices: The devices to display metrics for. Appears when Device Source is set to Multiple Devices.
-
Excluding Disabled Devices: Whether to exclude metrics from disabled devices. Appears when Device Source is set to All, Device Group, or Device Zone.
-
-
Metric Source: How metrics are chosen for the grid. Options are All, Metric Group, Metric Type, and Multiple Metric Types
Caution:
To avoid negatively impacting system performance, use All in small environments only, or combine it with other options to display smaller data sets.
Depending on the selection, one the following fields appears:
-
Metric Group: The group of metrics to display. Appears when Metric Source is set to Metric Group.
-
Metric Type: The type of metrics to display. Appears when Metric Source is set to Metric Type.
-
Metric Types - The metric types to display. Appears when Metric Source is set to Multiple Metric Types.
-
-
Group By: How to group the data. The default is Instance Name, but you can select Device Name, Metric Type, or None.
-
Sort By: How to sort the data by default. You can optionally select multiple columns. When viewing the grid, you can change the sorting.
-
Optional Filters: The filters to apply to the filter bar to limit what data is displayed.
Note:
When viewing the grid, you can expand the filter bar to see or change the filters that have been applied. Collapsing the filter bar removes the filters from the data displayed in the grid.
-
Show Toolbar: Whether to show the toolbar.
-
Show Paging Toolbar: Whether to show the pagination toolbar, which contains pagination controls, the Refresh button, and the results counter.
-
Hide Header: Whether to hide the panel header.
-
Width (%): The percent of the dashboard's width, from 10 to 100, that the panel takes up.
-
Height (px): The height of the panel, in pixels. By default, Auto is selected. Deselect it to enter a numerical value for the limit.
-
Paging Limit: The number of rows to show on a page by default.
