Policies

Policies is a standard configuration interface for managing device configuration policies. These policies are used by the Unified Assurance Topology Configuration Discovery application (Topology Configuration Discovery) to create the collections needed for the Unified Assurance Gather Configurations Agent application (Topology Gather Configurations Agent).

Refer to the Standard Configuration Interface guide for details on interacting with the grid and form.

This user interface calls REST methods from api/config/policies.

To open this interface, from the main navigation menu, select Configuration, then Device Configuration, and then Policies.

Form Fields

• Name - The name of the policy to be created.

• Description - A short description of the policy.

• Class C IP Address Range - Limit the policy to a specific device IP range.

• Regmatch Device Name - Limit the policy to specific device names that match the regex.

• Device Type - Limit the policy to a specific device type.

• Category - Limit the policy to a specific device category.

• Meta Type - Limit the policy to devices with the selected meta type and meta value.

• Meta Type Value - Limit the policy to devices with the selected meta type and meta value.

• Profile - Profile that will be used when connecting to devices.

• Action - Actions that will be run to retrieve data.

• Status - Indicates if the policy is enabled or disabled.
