Changing Fluentbit Log File Retention Policies
You can change the number of days of Oracle Communications Unified Assurance log data that OpenSearch stores in the Fluentbit indexes. The default is 30 days.
For single server installations, you can reduce this value to save hard drive space. For installations using redundant OpenSearch databases, you must change this value on both presentation servers. Changes made on one server are not automatically copied to the other server.
To change the Fluentbit log retention using Index State Management:
-
From the main navigation menu, select Analytics, then Events, then Administration, and then Management.
-
Click Index Management.
-
In the list of state management policies, click ism-logs.
-
Click Edit.
-
Select JSON editor and click Continue.
-
In the JSON document for the policy, locate the entry for the warm state. Under transitions, change the value of the min_index_age property.
-
Click Update.
Caution:
When increasing the number of days to keep data for, you must account for any additional required hard drive space. You can estimate the amount of space required by looking at the existing indices, averaging the storage sizes, then multiplying that value by the number of days.
