Users
Users is a standard configuration interface for individual user accounts of Unified Assurance. This is also where administrators can reset passwords manually or change user information.
For conceptual information about users, see the following topics in Unified Assurance Security Guide:
For information about interacting with the grid and form, see Standard Configuration Interface in Unified Assurance Concepts.
This user interface calls REST methods from the api/AAA/users endpoints. See REST API for Unified Assurance Core for details.
The UI path for this interface is Configuration -> AAA -> Users.
Form Fields
-
Username: The username to log in with.
When Authentication Type is set to LDAP, the username must match an entry in the LDAP server.
When Authentication Type is set to Internal, for multitenant portal functionality, Oracle recommends using email addresses as usernames.
-
Full Name: The full name or description of the user account.
-
Email Address: The email address to send notifications to.
-
Authentication Type: The authentication type for this user account.
-
These fields appear when Authentication Type is set to Internal:
-
Password: The password to log in with.
-
Repeat Password: The password, repeated.
-
Force Password Change: If and when the user must change their password.
-
Password Expiration: The date the password will expire and the user will need to enter a new one. This field appears when Force Password Change is set to After Date.
-
-
User Group Name: The primary user group the account is assigned to. Selecting or changing a user group automatically sets inherited group preferences in the Preferences section. Preferences that are locked for the group override any user-defined preferences and set them to read-only. The user's previously defined preferences are preserved for any unlocked group preferences.
-
Expiration: The date the account will expire.
-
Status: The status of the account. Set to Enabled to allow access to Unified Assurance or to Disabled to prevent the user from accessing Unified Assurance.
-
Subgroups: The additional user groups the account is assigned to. Users have access to everything from the group selected in User Group Name and any selected subgroups. If subgroups are selected, the resulting restrictive properties are a combination of the groups rather than an intersection. If a main or subgroup does not have restrictive properties defined for a category, group members will have full access, which supersedes any subgroups that have more restrictive settings.
For example, if subgroup A gives access to only devices in Device Group 1, but subgroup B does not define anything for RestrictiveDeviceGroupID, a user assigned to both groups would have access to all devices.
-
Properties: Additional settings applicable to the user. See User Properties in Unified Assurance Security Guide for more information.
-
Preferences - Preferences inherited from the user group. You can change unlocked preferences for the user, but locked preferences are set in the user group by an administrator and cannot be changed. See Preferences in Unified Assurance Security Guide for more information.
