Description of the illustration ha_asymmetric.gif

This figure represents Asymmetric High Availability Model supported by Messaging Server. In the figure, two Physical Nodes include Physical-A and Physical-B. Physical-A is the Active(Primary) node and Physical-B is the Backup node, along with a shared volume configured between both nodes. The message store partitions and MTA queues available on the shared volume and the Active node controls the shared volume. When a failover occurs, the Physical-B node becomes the active node and masters the shared node. All services start on the Physical-B node and stop on the Physical-A node.
