This figure shows the following policy network requirements:

• Customer traffic is classified and marked by service package before it enters the core network, at the C E branch site and at the P E device before it enters the ethernet branch site.

• Traffic is queued in the core network.

• Traffic loads on the C E branch site are regulated and the service package's bandwidth restrictions are enforced by applying policy at the P E device in the core network and at the C E device branch site.

• Internet traffic is marked for separate billing at the P E device in the core network.
