Activate the Cloud Connector
For Cloud Connector to be manageable by Oracle ECP, it must be onboarded and then activated. This procedure explains how to activate the Cloud Connector through the Zero Touch Activation functionality in the Oracle ECP cloud UI.
Before you begin: Ensure that the Cloud Connector has been successfully onboarded in the Oracle ECP and is available in the Edge Node Inventory page. A successfully onboarded Cloud Connector displays an Onboarded Lifecycle State in the Inventory Table. For more information on onboarding a Cloud Connector, see Onboard Cloud Connectors Manually. Further, the device from which you are planning to activate the Cloud Connector must have access to the Wi-Fi of the Cloud Connector you are planning to activate. To access the Wi-Fi of the Cloud Connector you are planning to activate, you must first set up the Cloud Connector. See Log in to a Cloud Connector for the First Time for setting up the Cloud Connector.
Note:
You can only activate one Cloud Connector at a time as the device used for activation must be connected to the Wi-Fi of the Cloud Connector you are planning to activate. You can monitor the activation progress on the Information tab of the local UI. See Review Activation Status for more information. The Cloud Connector is activated and ready for use when you receive a message saying the Cloud Connector is activated.
If you check the Inventory screen after receiving the above message, you will observe that the Lifecycle State of the specific Cloud Connector entry in the table is moved to Active from Onboarded.
Note:
During the activation process, even though you are taken to the local UI for monitoring the progress, you cannot make any configuration changes from the local UI. You must offboard the Cloud Connector before making any changes from the local UI.
