2.2 SNMP V3 Traps
This feature introduces the support for provisioning V3 Traps on E5OAM, which defines a security model, defining new concepts to replace the old community-based pseudo-authentication and provide communication privacy by means of encryption. The new concepts are: user, group and security level.
The need to support SNMPv3 is for enhanced security as this newer version of the protocol introduces different encryption and secured authentication mechanisms that were not available in the previous versions. SNMPv2 version will also be supported along with newly introduced SNMPv3 version.
