WARNING: Files may exist in string that are not known to database.
Cause
One of the following events is causing this error:
- A database crash during file creation.
- A backup control file is restored.
- The control file is re-created.
- DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST has previously been enabled and then disabled.
Action
The actual cause does not matter much. Use RMAN command CATALOG RECOVERY AREA to re-catalog such files if they are needed. If they are not needed or the file header is corrupt, then delete them using an operating system utility.
