4 Database Lifecycle Management in Exadata Cloud

Before You Begin

Before you begin with Lifecycle Management operations on Exadata Cloud, make sure that the following prerequisites are met:
  • Oracle Enterprise Manager 13.5 Release Update 10 (13.5.0.10) or higher is deployed for Oracle Exadata Database Service on Cloud@Customer, and Oracle Enterprise Manager 13.5 Release Update 21 (13.5.0.21) or higher is deployed for Oracle Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure.
  • The Exadata Cloud targets are discovered in Oracle Enterprise Manager 13.5 or higher. For more information on discovering Exadata Cloud Targets in Oracle Enterprise Manager, see Discovery of Exadata Cloud.

Note:

Exadata Cloud PDBs use TDE (Transparent Data Encryption). In line with Oracle’s best practices, Oracle Enterprise Manager only supports TDE configuration when it is configured using init.ora.
