This chapter explains replication of Recovery Appliances for disaster recovery. It provides examples of replication topologies and concludes with three different methods for configuring replication.

• Cloud Control, or Enterprise Management: This solution might be appropriate for replication if your environment already uses such tools.

• RACLI Commands Relating to Replication: This command line solution is appropriate for most replication situations, because these commands are wrappers for several underlying steps to make configuration and management easier for administrators. Being in the RACLI environment, more control exists over user privileges and in logging actions.

• DBMS_RA Procedures Relating to Replication: The DBMS_RA API solution is appropriate for environments that have custom programming and automation. This allows tighter integration into such systems. The DBMS_RA is more cumbersome but reliable, because it came first and is the API called by wrapper functions in Cloud Control and RACLI.
