To assist and simplify remote management of Recovery Appliances in replication and migration scenarios, Recovery Appliance partnerships, or RA partners, are established. This limited partnership establishes a two-way connection between a source and destination Recovery Appliance that allows information, such as status, to be retrieved from a remote Recovery Appliance. The partnership also allows altering of objects on the remote Recovery Appliance, such as changing the TLS configuration of the downstream Recovery Appliance to match the upstream.

The RA partnership is established using racli add ra_partner. It automates common administrative tasks across partners, which reduces the potential for human error and the need to remotely log into each system. It creates a non-root 'partner_user' with limited privileges, and sets up SSH key-based two-way authentication.
