19.1 Rack Layout Diagrams
The diagrams in this topic show the rack layout for Oracle Exadata Database Machine X4-2 and Oracle Exadata Database Machine X4-8.
Note:
For ease of reading, the name "Oracle Exadata Rack" is used when information refers to both Oracle Exadata Database Machine X4-2 and Oracle Exadata Storage Expansion Rack.The following abbreviations are used in the tables:

Rack n, where n is the number of the rack, such as R1. |

Unit height in rack, where n is the number, such as U20. |

InfiniBand port n, where n is port number, such as P8A. |
The cables used in Oracle Exadata Database Machine are color-coded as follows:
- Black: InfiniBand cables, or AC power jumper cables
- Red: Integrated Lights Out Manager (ILOM) cables
- Blue: Gigabit Ethernet cables
