Oracle Exadata database servers and storage servers running Oracle Linux 7 use the target service instead of the tgtd service for the Exadata Quorum Disk Manager.

During the upgrade from Oracle Linux 6 to Oracle Linux 7, Oracle Exadata database servers that use Quorum Disk Manager are migrated to use the new underlying target service. The migration can be done in a rolling fashion. The administration interface for the Quorum Disk Manager remains the same and can be used if any changes are needed after the upgrade to Oracle Linux 7.
