Set the Partition User Name and Password

You must specify a user name and password for Essbase to use when it communicates between the data source and the data target. The user name and password must be identical on the data source and the data target.

Essbase uses the partition user name and password to:

  • Transfer data between the data source and the data target for replicated and transparent partitions. Local security filters apply to prevent end users from seeing privileged data.

  • Synchronize database outlines for all partition types.
