Use the cube specification to name the database at which the query is directed. A cube specification consists of the FROM keyword followed by delimited or nondelimited identifiers indicating an application name and a database name.

The first identifier should be an Essbase application name, and the second one should be an Essbase database name. For example, all of the following are valid identifiers:

• Sample.Basic

• [Sample.Basic]

• [Sample].[Basic]

• 'Sample'.'Basic'

If [FROM [<cube_specification>]] is omitted from a query, the current Essbase database context is assumed.
