Seamless Amendment Transition

With Seamless Amendment Transition, your original subscription now automatically extends until your amended subscription begins, ensuring customers never experience service interruption during the amendment process.

Prior to this feature when you updated the start date of the new product line created after amendment, the amendment effective date and close date on the old product line would still retain the value entered during amendment action. Now, the updated start date on the new product line is updated as the close date/amendment effective date of the old product line.

Say, Cloud backup service is amended with amendment effective date 13-Feb-2026 with the need for more backup storage. The new product line created in draft status after amendment would start from 13-Feb-2026. When the start date is updated from 13-Feb-2026 to 19-Feb-2026 because of a provisioning delay in allocating additional storage space, the existing Cloud backup service is automatically extended till 18-Feb-2026 i.e. billed till 18-Feb-2026. The close date is 19-Feb-2026.

  1. Seamless Amendment Transition ensures there's no gap in service. The system automatically extends your existing subscription to cover the period between the old subscription's end date and the new subscription's start date.
  2. As the subscription service is continuous, your customers are happy as there is no loss of service.
  3. As the subscription service is continuous, your do not lose out on revenue and billing during the transition.

Steps to enable and configure

  1. Navigate to Setup and Maintenance.
  2. Search for task Manage Administrator Profile Values.
  3. Search for profile option Synchronize Start Date with Close Date.
  4. Set the Site level value to Yes.

Tips and considerations

  1. In Mass Update if the start date is also given as an attribute to be updated then the selected amendment effective date is discarded.

  2. If the amendment action is performed from Order Management and the new product line start date is updated in Subscription Management, the close date of the old product line is updated. hence, you will notice a difference in the close date in Order Management and the close date in Subscription Management.

  3. Amending a previously amended product will also ensure seamless amendment with this profile option.

  4. Only Subscription products with sales product type as Subscription in Product Information Management support seamless amendment transition. Coverages are not supported for this feature.
