Credits Based UOM Conversion and Promotional Credits in Entitlement Plans
With this feature you can bill customers exactly as their contracts intend no matter which units their usage comes in and to run time boxed promotions without custom setup.
- Convert any reported usage into Credits before pricing and allowance drawdown. If customers send usage in different units, we normalise it using the conversion rules defined in their Entitlement Plan so charges always match contract terms.
- A new UOM Conversion section in Entitlement Plans lets you define clear, dated rules per Balance Code and Usage Charge. You control when a rule is active, set a positive conversion rate, and rely on helpful defaults like auto selecting the only available Usage Charge or inheriting the UOM from the Balance Code. Each rule is uniquely keyed to avoid conflicts.
- Negotiate per subscription conversion factors. During sales or renewal, you can override or inactivate the standard rule for a specific subscription. At runtime, the system checks negotiated rules first, then falls back to the standard rule so the customer’s deal always wins.
- Seamless rating experience. When usage events arrive, we apply the right conversion to each event before any charge adjustments and then draw down allowances measured in Credits. For Allowances, Estimates, and Commitments, summarised usage is supported as well.
- Works where you need it. The same conversion logic applies consistently across Allowances, Estimates, Commitments, and Volume Pricing, and it’s honoured throughout subscription lifecycle operations.
- Time bound promotional Credits. Offer free Credits for a limited window either between specific dates or for the first N billing periods to support trials, feature launches, or targeted promotions. These promotions draw from Credit based allowances so customers see benefits clearly on their balances.
