Open Recently Used Artifacts Quickly in Google Sheets

You can now open forms, ad hoc grids, flex forms, and reports that you have recently opened quickly using the new Recently Used panel.

The Recently Used panel displays a list of artifacts such as forms, ad hoc grids, reports, and flex forms that you have recently opened.

You can set the number of recent artifacts you want to view in the Recently Used panel in the Advanced tab of Smart View Options. By default, you can view up to 5 recent artifacts. The maximum number of recent artifacts that you can set and view is 10.

To view your recently used artifacts, go to the Extensions menu, select Smart View for Google Workspace, and then under Start, select Recently Used. Click an item from the list displayed in the Recently Used panel to open the artifact.

Business Benefit: With the Recently Used panel, users now have a quicker way of accessing their recently opened artifacts, without going to the Smart View Home panel or searching for them in the library.

Tips and considerations

  • You can also pin artifacts to ensure that they appear at the top of the recently used list.
  • If you don't want to see any items in the Recently Used panel, set the number as 0 in the Advanced tab of Smart View Options.
