Import Smart View Metadata in Google Sheets
You can now import Smart View metadata while copying sheets in Google Sheets using Oracle Smart View for Google Workspace.
Applies to: Planning and Budgeting, Profitability and Cost Management, Close Management and Consolidation, FreeForm, Tax Reporting
When you copy a sheet’s content to another sheet using the copy and paste commands of Google Sheets, the Smart View metadata associated with the sheet is not copied. Smart View metadata consists of details such as the POV, alias tables, and connection information. After copying the source sheet data to the new sheet, you can use the Import Metadata feature to import the metadata from the source sheet into the new sheet in the same spreadsheet. You can import metadata from forms, single grid ad hoc grid sheets, and multiple grid ad hoc sheets.
To import metadata, open a new sheet while keeping the source sheet open in the same spreadsheet. In the new sheet, go to the Extensions menu, select Smart View for Google Workspace, and then select Import Metadata to view a list of open sheets containing Smart View metadata. Select the required source sheet, and once the metadata is imported, refresh the destination sheet.
Business Benefit: Instead of recreating Smart View metadata for a new sheet from scratch, users can import metadata for an existing sheet and get started in a new sheet faster.
