Automated Workforce Schedule Publication Enhancements

Administrators can now run the existing auto-publication process to publish all unpublished schedules whose planning window has already closed. This applies to schedule generation profiles that have automatic publication enabled.

  • Administrators can choose the publication timing when running the process. They can choose to publish the schedule On or After the planning window closes or After the planning window closes.

  • Only schedules whose planning window has closed (per the chosen option) and whose schedule period is not completed (future periods) are published.
  • Administrators can either run the process immediately or schedule it to run recurrently.

Practical use case scenarios:

  • Weekend or holiday gaps: If the process didn’t run on the exact close date (for example, over a weekend), the next run will automatically publish all missed schedules.
  • Centralized operations across time zones: Regional teams close planning windows at different local times; the sweep ensures late-night or next-day runs still publish on time locally.
  • New process cadence: If you change the cadence (e.g., from daily to twice weekly), the process will still publish any schedules whose window has closed since the last run.

Automatically publishing all eligible schedules with closed planning windows reduces manual effort, ensures timely visibility for workers, and improves operational consistency across departments.

  • A schedule must be unpublished and have the profile’s automated publication setting enabled to be considered.
  • Choosing the On or After the planning window closes option includes schedules whose planning window close date is the same as the run date; choosing the 'After the planning window closes' option excludes those and requires planning window be closed before the run date.
