Redwood Payslip
The payslip template is now redesigned using the Redwood toolkit and offers you a more efficient experience. The Redwood payslip can be viewed online or downloaded. The PDF/UA templates are designed to be universally accessible while meeting the legislative requirements for payslip reporting.
Note: It is recommended that you adopt the Redwood payslip template at your earliest convenience to ensure your payslips remain compliant with your local reporting requirements.
For more details on how to configure the delivered payslip template to meet the requirements of the your organization, refer to this topic on the OHC: How to Configure the Payslip Report Template?
Use the new Redwood payslip template that can be viewed online and downloaded. The new template is universally accessible and is also compliant to meet legislative requirements for payslip reporting.
Steps to enable and configure
Use these steps to enable the redesigned Redwood payslip template:
- Navigate to the Setup and Maintenance area and search for the Manage Administrator Profile Values task.
- On the Manage Administrator Profile Values page, search for and select the ORA_PAY_PAYSLIP_OUTPUT_REDWOOD_DISABLED profile option.
- In the Profile Values section, click Add.
- Specify the level at which the profile value is to be set. Select Site as the profile level.
- Select N in the Profile Value field if you want to enable the Redwood Payslip profile option for the entire site of deployment.
After you have enabled the redesigned Redwood Payslip template, complete these two steps:
- Remove any existing custom payslips from your Custom folder.
- Create the custom Redwood payslip.
Remove Any Existing Custom Payslips from Your Custom Folder
The custom folder must only contain your custom Redwood payslip template for the country. If you have a previous version of your payslip template in this folder, you must remove it when you enable the Redwood Payslip profile option.
Here’s how to navigate to the custom folder for a country:
- Sign in to the Oracle BI Publisher using an environment link or URL that ends with ‘xmlpserver’
- Navigate to Tools > Reports and Analytics from your Home page.
- Click Catalog to open BI analytics.
- Navigate to the custom folder for a country: /Shared Folders/Custom/Human Capital Management/Payroll/ Regulatory and Tax Reporting / Country Name folder.
For example, for Canada, you can find the custom Canada Payslip Report at: /Shared Folders/Custom/Human Capital Management/Payroll/Regulatory and Tax Reporting/Canada folder.
If you have a previous version of your payslip template in this folder, delete it from the folder.
Create the Custom Redwood Payslip
- Navigate to the seeded folder for a country: /Shared Folders/Human Capital Management/Payroll/ Regulatory and Tax Reporting / Country Name folder.
- Find the Payslip report and select More > Customize for the payslip report.
- Navigate to /Shared Folders/Custom/Human Capital Management/Payroll/ Regulatory and Tax Reporting/Country Name folder and check if you can see the report in the folder.
It is recommended that you save all user-defined or configured reports in the Custom catalog folder under Shared Folders. Any reports created outside of the Custom folder will not be migrated and will be lost during patching or upgrade.
Redwood Payslip Additional Information
- The Redwood Payslip profile option ORA_PAY_PAYSLIP_OUTPUT_REDWOOD_DISABLED controls whether Redwood payslip processing is executed. If the profile option is disabled, the Payslip process uses the classic (non-Redwood) payslip behavior, regardless of whether a Redwood template exists in the Custom folder.
- The Redwood Payslip is generated using BI Publisher and is independent of the HCM Redwood (VBCS) profile option (ORA_HCM_VBCS_PWA_ENABLED).
