Include Unpublished Changes in Site Preview

New or changed content always starts out as unpublished. This keeps content from displaying until it's published, even if the visibility start date has already passed. When you preview your site, you can choose to include or exclude unpublished changes by selecting Include Unpublished Changes on the site management toolbar. This option is on by default. You can clear this option to hide unpublished changes in the preview.

When you preview your site, you can quickly spot unpublished changes in edit mode. Look for a blue circle in the upper left corner of the content, which indicates it's unpublished. For details, see Site Management Tools Edit Mode.
