The Quality Inspection Queue
Each quality inspection queue record (inspection) represents a triggered quality specification. It's the primary record you'll see in the quality tablet list and the inspection queue Suitelet. All non-conformance workflows watch this record type and respond to changes in the status and action fields.
The Status Field
The Status field changes based on the data collected during an inspection. Quality managers can update the Status field to control the process. The diagram below shows how the Status field usually changes.
The Status workflow shows that you can only collect data from inspections that are in Pending or In-Process state. The dotted line transitions (to Hold and Cancel) can only be made manually by quality managers.
Conformance rules defined for the specification determine an inspection’s Pass or Fail status and are evaluated after all quality data has been submitted.
The Action Field
The Action field values are sourced from the NetSuite Quality Conformance Action list. Here are the values used in the baseline workflows:
-
Quarantine: tells NetSuite workflows to stop the item from being used
-
Return to Vendor : tells NetSuite to start the return-to-vendor process
-
New: lets you add actions to the list to trigger workflows
Interpreting Status and Action
Certain combinations of Select and Action fields can trigger the baseline workflows delivered with the Quality Management SuiteApp. The table below shows how the workflows respond to different inspection combinations.
