SuiteGL Features Overview
SuiteGL features let you customize your general ledger processes to meet a variety of operational and financial needs. These features help you adapt your accounting practices to different national standards, strengthen regulatory compliance, and meet industry-or company-specific needs.
With these features, you can change line-level GL impact of transactions, create customized transaction types with unique GL capabilities, and create custom classifications to improve reporting and analytics.
SuiteGL includes the following features:
-
Custom GL Lines Plug-in. Use the Custom GL Lines Plug-in feature to add custom GL impact lines to standard transactions, like invoices and vendor bills, across one or more accounting books, thereby eliminating the need for manual journal entries. You can also use this feature to add GL impact to custom transaction types.
The logic you can set up in the Custom GL Lines plug-in depends on the accounting features enabled in your NetSuite account. For more information about using this feature, see Custom GL Lines Plug-in.
-
Custom Transactions. Use the Custom Transactions feature to create transaction types for your specific business needs. This feature makes it easier to define how each of your business processes affects your general ledger. You can name your custom transaction types to match your business logic. Like standard transactions, each custom transaction type can have its own numbering scheme, permissions, and workflow logic.
For more information about using this feature, see Custom Transactions.
-
Custom Segments. Use the Custom Segments feature to create custom classification fields like class, department, and location. You can create an unlimited custom segments, set possible values for each segment, and add them to specific record types. NetSuite users can then use these segments to classify records, filter and group data based on categories specific to your business.
For more information about using this feature, see Custom Segments.
