Duplicate Record Notification
Users are notified of potential duplicates in three ways:
-
When you open a record with potential duplicates, you'll see a notice at the top of the page with a link to the potential duplicates.
-
When you're creating a new record and enter matching data in fields set up as duplicate criteria, you'll see a warning at the top of the page with a link to the potential duplicates. If you have permission, you can click the link to open those matching records.
-
When you add a record from a list by using Quick Add, or you use Inline Editing to make changes that would create a duplicate, you'll also get a popup warning.
These notifications help reduce the number of duplicate records in your NetSuite account.
For OneWorld accounts, cross-subsidiary records aren't treated as duplicates. For example, two entities in different subsidiaries won't be listed as duplicates on the Manage Duplicates Page.
NetSuite skips certain words or phrases when searching for duplicates. For a list of these words, see Words Excluded from Duplicate Detection Matching.
