Size Limits for Emails and Attachments

NetSuite email size limits cover include both the message and its attachments.

Outbound Email Limits

The total email size limit is 15 MB for outbound emails. This limit covers both the email content and all attachments. The limit leaves space for things like email headers and message encoding. Therefore, after NetSuite processes the email, the final message might be larger than 15 MB

Attachment size limits can vary depending on what you send. The table below shows the size limits for email messages and each attachment sent from NetSuite.

The email includes a link to the folder with the PDF files. If a PDF is over 5 MB, NetSuite splits it into separate files and lets the recipient know in the email.

If a file is too big, SCIS might fail when you try to email or print a receipt at the end of a transaction. To avoid this, use smaller or lower-resolution images for products in SCIS.

Email Case Capture

10 MB

Not specified, but less than the 10 MB email size limit

If an inbound case capture email is bigger than 10 MB, NetSuite might not create a case.

An email over 10 MB can create a case, but it's not guaranteed.

  • You can send up to 20 email attachments in one message.

  • Image files (PNG, JPEG) can have one page with a single invoice.

  • PDF files can have up to five pages, but only one invoice per file.

  • Don't include email signature images when sending vendor bills to NetSuite. Signature images count as attachments and can push you over the attachment size limits.
