You can create a free-form grid by typing dimension and member names directly into cells in a sheet.

To create a free-form grid:

1. Open a worksheet and connect to a data source.
2. In the worksheet, enter member names according to the rules specified in Guidelines for Working in Free-Form Mode .
3. Refresh the grid, or click Analyze to start ad hoc analysis.
4. Perform further ad hoc operations and formatting as needed.
