Use OCI GoldenGate on Azure

Prepare multicloud anchors in Azure, then create the OCI GoldenGate deployment and connections in the OCI Console. Use the shared OCI GoldenGate documentation to configure the replication workload.

Where you work: Create Resource and Network Anchors in the Azure Portal. Create the deployment, connections, assignments, and runtime processes in OCI GoldenGate.

Before you begin

• An Azure subscription linked to Oracle AI Database@Azure, with an authorized user who has Network Contributor and Contributor, or the appropriate custom multicloud role.
• A VNet and delegated subnet in the target region. Plan the delegated subnet before creating it; required advanced network features cannot be enabled retroactively.
• The subscription’s Azure logical-zone mapping. It must match the partner availability zone selected later for the OCI GoldenGate deployment.
• An OCI tenancy with the ORACLEDBATAZURE subscription, required GoldenGate policies and groups, and sufficient GoldenGate, Vault, Key, Secret, and Load Balancer limits.

Prepare Azure multicloud resources

1. Create the Resource Anchor.

   In Oracle AI Database@Azure, select Multicloud Resources, Resource Anchors, and then link an Azure Resource Group to OCI. Verify that its status is Active and that OCI created the matching compartment.

2. Create the Network Anchor.

   In Multicloud Resources, Network Anchors, and then select the same Resource Group, the target region and availability zone, the Resource Anchor, VNet, and delegated subnet. Use the same region and zone later in OCI.

3. Complete network readiness.

   Configure required ports, DNS, NSGs, security lists, and routing between OCI GoldenGate, Oracle AI Database@Azure, and every source or target system.

4. Confirm OCI access and limits.

   Confirm the GoldenGate administrator group and required policies, or use the supported IAM automation. Confirm quotas in the ORACLEDBATAZURE subscription.

Provision OCI GoldenGate in OCI

1. Create and configure the deployment.

   In Oracle AI Database, select GoldenGate, and then ORACLEDBATAZURE, the Resource Anchor compartment, and the matching partner region and availability zone.

   Select the deployment type and technology for the planned workload, environment type and OCPU configuration, the Network Anchor-mapped subnet, license model, and administrator credential.

2. Create, assign, and test connections.

   Use the OCI Console. Select the same Azure multicloud context for each relevant connection, then test every assignment before creating runtime processes.
