Manage Exadata Infrastructure

The Exadata Infrastructure (EI) resource represents the Exadata Database Machine system, together with the networking configuration that connects it to Oracle Cloud. It hosts the underlying components Autonomous VM Clusters, Autonomous Container Databases, and Autonomous AI Databases.

Exadata Infrastructure management is handled within the Exadata Database Service of your deployment choice.

View a List of Exadata Infrastructure Resources

You view a list of Exadata Infrastructure resources by going to the Exadata Infrastructure page.

Procedure

Go to Autonomous AI Database in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Console.

For instructions, see Access Autonomous AI Database in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Console.
In the side menu's list of Autonomous AI Database resource types, click Exadata Infrastructure.

Note: You will be redirected to the Exadata Infrastructure page under Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Exadata Infrastructure when selecting the Exadata Infrastructure from the landing page of your deployment of choice.

The Exadata Infrastructure page is displayed, showing the list of Exadata Infrastructure resources in your current compartment. Choose the Compartment where you want to see the list of Exadata Infrastructure resources.

Features of the Exadata Infrastructure Page

You can perform a variety of actions on the Exadata Infrastructure page.

Create an Exadata Infrastructure resource	For Oracle Public Cloud deployments, see Create Exadata Infrastructure. For Exadata Cloud@Customer deployments, see Create Exadata Infrastructure.
View details of a listed Exadata Infrastructure resource	In the list of Exadata Infrastructure resources, click the name of the resource whose details you want to view.
Copy the OCID of a listed Exadata Infrastructure resource	In the list of Exadata Infrastructure resources, click the menu in the row of the resource whose OCID you want to copy and then click Copy OCID. The OCID is copied to your clipboard and the menu item changes to Copied.
Apply tags to a listed Exadata Infrastructure resource	For Oracle Public Cloud deployments, see Manage tags for your Exadata Cloud Infrastructure resources. For Exadata Cloud@Customer deployments, see Use the Console to Manage Tags for Your Oracle Exadata Database Service on Exadata Cloud@Customer Resources.
Move the Exadata Infrastructure resource to a different compartment	For Oracle Public Cloud deployments, see Move an Exadata Cloud Infrastructure resource to another compartment. View Details of an Exadata Infrastructure Resource

You view the details of an Exadata Infrastructure resource by going to its Details page.

Procedure

Go to Autonomous AI Database in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Console.

In the side menu’s list of Autonomous AI Database resource types, click Exadata Infrastructure. You will be redirected to the Exadata Infrastructure page under Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Exadata Infrastructure when selecting the Exadata Infrastructure from the landing page of your deployment of choice.

The list of Exadata Infrastructure resources in your current Compartment is displayed.
Choose the Compartment where you want to see the list of Exadata Infrastructure resources.

The list of Exadata Infrastructure resources refreshes to show those in the selected Compartment.
Click the name of the Exadata Infrastructure resource whose details you want to view.

The Details page for the chosen Exadata Infrastructure resource is displayed.

Click Autonomous Exadata VM clusters to view a list of Autonomous Exadata VM Clusters in the selected Compartment that use the chosen Exadata Infrastructure resource. Using this list you can perform a variety of actions.

Create an Autonomous Exadata VM Cluster	Click Create Autonomous Exadata VM Cluster and follow the instructions in Create an Autonomous Exadata VM Cluster.
View details of a listed Autonomous Exadata VM Cluster	In the list of Autonomous Exadata VM Cluster(s), click the name of the one whose details you want to view.
Move a listed Autonomous Exadata VM Cluster to a different compartment	In the list of Autonomous Exadata VM Cluster(s), click the menu in the row where you want to move the resource to a different compartment, and click Move resource.
Add tags to a listed Autonomous Exadata VM Cluster	In the list of Autonomous Exadata VM Cluster(s), click the menu in the row where you want to apply tags to, and click Manage tags.
Copy the OCID of a listed Autonomous Exadata VM Cluster	In the list of Autonomous Exadata VM Cluster(s), click the menu in the row of the one whose OCID you want to copy and then click Copy OCID. The OCID is copied to your clipboard and the menu item changes to Copied.
Add security attributes	APPLIES TO: Oracle Public Cloud only In the list of Autonomous Exadata VM Cluster(s), click the menu in the row of the one you want to add security attributes, click Add security attributes.
Terminate a listed Autonomous Exadata VM Cluster	In the list of Autonomous Exadata VM Cluster(s), click the menu in the row of the one you want to terminate and then click Terminate. Then, follow the instructions given in Terminate an Exadata Infrastructure Resource.

Move an Exadata Infrastructure Resource to a Different Compartment

You can move an Exadata Infrastructure resource to a different Oracle Cloud Infrastructure compartment.

Required IAM Policies

use cloud-exadata-infrastructures in the resource’s current compartment and in the compartment you are moving it to.

Note: As soon as you move an Exadata Infrastructure resource to a different compartment, the policies that govern the new compartment apply immediately and affect access to the resource. Therefore, both your and other Oracle Cloud users’ access to the resource may change, depending on the policies governing the user account’s access to resources. For example, a user may lose the ability to create Autonomous Exadata VM Clusters on the resource, given its new compartment.

Manage Customer Contacts for an Exadata Infrastructure

You can add, edit, and remove customer contacts for an Exadata Infrastructure from its Details page.

Terminate an Exadata Infrastructure Resource

You terminate an Exadata Infrastructure resource by clicking Terminate on its Details page.
