Activate and Run the Recipe
After you've configured the connections and other resources, you can activate and run the recipe.
- Activate the recipe. See Activate a Recipe or Accelerator.
- Configure the basic authentication in ServiceNow for each integration flow of the recipe.
- After activating the recipe, obtain the metadata URLs of all integration flows.
- In the Integrations section of the project workspace, click Actions
on an integration flow, then select Run details.
- In the Run details panel, copy the Metadata URL value.
- In the Integrations section of the project workspace, click Actions
- Use each metadata URL to configure a separate basic authentication in ServiceNow. This is necessary to invoke the respective integration flow in Oracle Integration from ServiceNow.

- After activating the recipe, obtain the metadata URLs of all integration flows.
- Run the recipe.Log in to your ServiceNow | Developer instance as a system administrator and perform the following steps.
- Create an asset in ServiceNow.
- On the left navigation pane, enter
Assetin the Filter navigator field. The Self-Service menu displays all related modules. - In the Self-Service menu, under Portfolios click All Assets.
- In the Assets window, click New.
- In the resulting window, select the asset type.
- Fill the fields as required in the asset creation form.
- Click Submit.
The new asset is created and displayed in the Assets window. - On the left navigation pane, enter
- Create an incident in ServiceNow.
- In the navigation pane, enter
Incidentin the Filter navigator field. The Self-Service menu displays all related modules. - In the Self-Service menu, click Incidents.
- In the Incidents window, click New.
- Fill the fields as required in the incident creation form.
- Click Submit.
The new incident is created and displayed in the Incident window. - In the navigation pane, enter
- Create a request in ServiceNow.
- In the navigation pane, enter
Requestin the Filter navigator field. The Self-Service menu displays all related modules. - Scroll down the Self-Service menu, and under Service Catalog click Requests.
- In the Service Catalog window, select a category. If required, select a sub-category.
- Fill the fields as required in the request creation form.
- Click Submit.
- In the navigation pane, enter
- Close a request in ServiceNow.
- In the navigation pane, enter
Requestin the Filter navigator field. The Self-Service menu displays all related modules. - Scroll down the Self-Service menu, and under Service Catalog, and then Open Records, click Requests. The Request window opens listing all open requests.
- Select the request you want to close from the list.
- In the Approval field, select either Approved or Rejected.
- In the Request state field, select an option from the drop-down list.
- Click Update.
- In the navigation pane, enter
- Create an asset in ServiceNow.
- Monitor the running of the integration flow in Oracle Integration. See Monitor Integrations.
- Check if the notification is posted in the following Slack channels.
- Open the
#asset-creationchannel, and check if a notification message is posted for the asset you created in ServiceNow. - Open the
#incident-creationchannel, and check if a notification message is posted for the incident you created in ServiceNow. - Open the
#request-creationchannel, and check if a notification message is posted for the request you created in ServiceNow. - Open the
#request-closurechannel, and check if a notification message is posted for the request you closed in ServiceNow.
