Upgrade from 8.12

Before upgrading from 8.12, you must consider the following:

One-Click and IBM i Code Current are not intergrated with upgrade logic in them. If you use One-Click, you must export, save, or detach the Business Data and Control Tables of your 8.12 instance, then detach / drop the 9.2 version of these and attach / import / restore your 8.12 version.

Note: Tools Release 9.2, 64-bit (Release 22) can access 8.12 specifications.

Follow these steps to upgrade from Applications Release 8.12:

  1. Install 9.2 GA CDs.

  2. Install the latest 32-bit Tools Release (Release 22). The delivered DLLs in PLANNER path code are 32-bit.

  3. Install the latest Planner Update.

  4. Install the Server Manager Console and the Server Manager Agent.

  5. Install latest Tools Rollup ESU.

  6. Install the latest Tools ASI 9.2.x. This step also applies the Applications and DLL changes on the Deployment Server needed for compatibility with Tools Release 9.2.5.x.

  7. For the GA CD install, build a package in PS920 before starting the upgrade. This step loads the files in the DB repository for PS920.

  8. At this point you can migrate the Deployment Server to 64-bit if you want or wait until the Upgrade is finished. Follow the instructions in the Implementing 64-bit Processing with a 32-bit Deployment Server in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne learning path.

  9. Follow the instructions in this guide for completing the upgrade.
