Microsoft Firewall
Symptom:
The WLSH4A installer stops responding, and the bottom of the installation log shows an error indicating an attempt to connect to Node Manager (WebLogic) timed out. The installation log is located at:
- 64-bit installer
C:\Program Files\Oracle\inventory\logs
- 32-bit installer
C:\Program Files (x86)\Oracle\inventory\logs
Cause:
The Windows firewall blocked the connection to 127.0.0.1 using port 5556, which is the default port used by WLSH4A to connect to the Node Manager of WebLogic.
Solution:
Temporarily turn off Windows firewall and re-run the installer.
