Working with Object Usage for Software Update Impact Analysis

The Object Usage for Software Update Impact Analysis application has additional information not available on the Software Update Impact Analysis on the development client. The following additional columns exist:

• Customized Objects

  The number of objects in the ESU that have been customized (checked-out/checked-in).

• Used Objects

  The number of objects in the ESU that have a record in the Object Usage Tracking Detail table (F98911) or Object Usage Tracking Summary table (F98902).

• Total Objects

  The total number of objects contained in the ESU.

  Note:

  You need to execute an Impact Analysis for an ESU to populate the columns. The Used Objects column is populated after Object Usage Tracking is activated in the Object Usage Tracking Configuration (P980042T) application.

The Object Usage View option is only available on the web client version of the Software Update Impact Analysis Master (P96710) application.

To access Object Usage for Software Update Impact Analysis:

1. From the Application Development menu (GH902), select Object Usage Tracking and click Object Usage for Software Update Impact Analysis.

2. Select the Object Usage View from the Analysis Views Row exit to display the Impact Analysis - Object Usage View form.

The form has the following fields and table columns:

ESU Name

The name of the ESU Being analyzed.

Path Code

The path code being analyzed.

Total Objects

The total number of objects contained in the ESU.

Customized Objects

The number of objects in the ESU that have been customized (checked-out /checked-in).

Used Objects

The number of objects in the ESU that have a record in the Object Usage Tracking Detail table (F98911) or Object Usage Tracking Summary table (F98902).

OMW Object Name

The unique identifie for the object in the ESU.

Last Patched

The last date this object was updated by an ESU in this path code.

Last Patched ESU Name

The name of the last patched ESU.

Object Customized

Checkmark - Object has been customized (checked-out/checked-in).

Last Customized

The date the object was last customized.

User ID

The User ID of who last checked-in the object.

Object Used

Checkmark - Object has been used.

X - Object has not been used.

Grey Ball Icon - Tracking not supported.

Usage Count

The number of times the object has been accessed.

Last Accessed

The date the object was last accessed.
