Deploying ESUs with Force Spec Merge Using Change Assistant and AIS (Release 9.2.9.3)
Starting with Tools Release 9.2.9.3, you can force merge object changes to a target environment when updates are applied using Change Assistant with AIS (Application Interface Server). The Force Spec Merge option enables you to bypass object evaluation process in Update Manager (which only merges the objects which are new or updated by Oracle) and merge the object, regardless of whether the incoming object is new or not. You can save significant time by mass updating objects with their pristine versions into a target system environment using Change Assistant rather than updating one object at a time using the Work With Software Updates application.
- Verify the Update Center and AIS connection preferences.
- Search for ESU packages on the Oracle JD Edwards Update Center using Change Assistant.
- Download and deploy ESU with Force Spec Merge.
- Review the ESU deployment reports.
