Changing the POV in Reports

You can change the POV in a fully formatted report.

Note:

  • Before you begin:

  • Reports containing relational tables are imported as static reports. So the Edit POV action in the Smart View ribbon is disabled for such reports.
To change the POV in an imported or inserted report.
  1. Click Edit POV, Edit POV button, in the Smart View ribbon to launch the Select POV dialog.

    Use the drop-down arrow in each field to locate drop-down lists indicating that the dimension POV can be changed.

    Note:

    Editing the POV reloads the formatted report.

  2. If the drop-down list contains a fixed list of options, select an option from the list.
  3. If the drop-down list contains the Select... option:
    1. Click Select... to open the Member Selection dialog.
    2. In the left pane of the Member Selection dialog, expand the members where necessary, then select one member and click Right arrow button to move it to the right pane, and then click OK to return to the Select POV dialog.

      Note:

      • Be sure to choose only one member in the Member Selection dialog.
      • Only one member from the current dimension can be selected at a time. To select a member from a different dimension, you must exit Member Selection and then choose Select... from the drop-down list of a different dimension in the Select POV dialog.
      • The designer of your report specifies during POV definition whether the drop-down list is static or contains a Select option indicating that member selection is allowed for the POV (described in Defining the Grid Point of View in the Designing with Reports).
  4. After making your selections to the dimensions you require in the Select POV dialog, click OK, taking the newly selected members as your POV selections.

    The formatted report is regenerated using the updated POV.
