Control the Ability of Administrators to Change the Supplier Name

To be able to control which supplier profile administrators can make edits to the Supplier Name field, a new function has been introduced. If the "Supplier Name Restriction" function is included in a supplier management administrator responsibility, the users assigned that responsibility will not be able to process supplier name changes. Prior to Release 12.2.15, changes to a supplier name by a supplier administrator could cause discrepancies between the purchase order and the receipt transactions warranting data fixes.

Steps to Enable

To restrict a supplier management administrator from changing the supplier’s name, add the "Supplier Name Restriction" (POS_RES_SUPP_NAME) function to the menu associated with the relevant Supplier Management Administrator responsibility. Administrators assigned this function cannot update the supplier’s name as the Supplier Name field on the Organization page becomes read-only. Only administrators who are not assigned this function can update the supplier's name.
