Providing Access to Users

Provide access to a desktop by adding the user to the group associated with the compartment that contains the desktop pool and assign the user to the group associated with the desktop pool. Then, provide the user with the client URL used to access Secure Desktops.

  1. Provide access to a desktop by adding the user to the group associated with the compartment that contains the desktop pool. See Managing Users.
  2. Assign the user to the group associated with the desktop pool and a policy that allows this group to access a desktop. See Understanding Desktop User Access to a Desktop Pool.
  3. Provide the desktop user with the URL to the Secure Desktops Interface (client URL).

To view the client URL, go to the Desktop Pool Details page in the Secure Desktops administrator console. The client URL is listed under General Information. Optionally, click Copy to place the URL on the clipboard to share with desktop users.

    URL format:

    https://published.desktops.<region-id>.oci.oraclecloud.com/client

Where <region-id> is your region identifier.

For example, for the US East (Ashburn) region:

    https://published.desktops.us-ashburn-1.oci.oraclecloud.com/client

For a list of available regions and their identifiers, see Availability.

  4. The desktop user can then follow the steps in Connecting to Your Desktop.
