Virtual Cloud Network (VCN) IP Enhancements
- Services: Networking
- Release Date: November 07, 2025
Introducing significant enhancements to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Virtual Cloud Networks (VCN) that deliver greater flexibility, scalability, and simplified IP management:
IPv4 CIDR Addressing Support
-
Flexible CIDR Mask Support: Use custom IPv4 CIDR masks to efficiently manage private IP space. This feature enables optimized address assignment and simplified management for Virtual Network Interface Card (VNIC) configurations.
-
Comprehensive API and Console Support: IPv4 CIDR addressing is now fully supported through the Console, APIs, CLI, and SDKs.
-
Dual IPv4 and IPv6 Support: Manage IPv4 and IPv6 addresses across your preferred interfaces for improved address management.
Expanded Service Limits for Greater Scalability
More IP Networks per VCN: Add up to 16 IPv4 CIDR blocks and 16 IPv6 prefixes to a single VCN to support growth and segmentation.
Enhanced Subnet Flexibility: Assign up to 16 IPv4 CIDR blocks and 16 IPv6 prefixes to each subnet for more granular control over network topology.
